Website Privacy Notice for Light Republic Photographic Studio
This notice explains how we use any personal information we collect from you through our website.

Information collection
Our website can be accessed without giving us your personal information. If, however, you purchase a gift voucher or request information (eg about a special offer), we will invite you to submit your name and email address. We also record your activity and preferences when visiting our website through the use of cookies (see below).

Using your information
If you agree to receive email updates or support, we’ll use your name and email address to send this information to you. By sending this information to you, we are pursuing our legitimate interest to provide you with information regarding your purchase and/or our services. You have the right to object or restrict this processing at any time: to inform us about any objection, use the contact section below, or click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. The number of emails we send you about our offers will be proportionate.
We use Mailchimp.com to send our information on special offers. Please see Mailchimp‘s privacy notice for further information.

Your data and third parties
We will not sell or share your data to a third party for commercial or marketing purposes. But we may share your personal information with third parties where required by law, where it is necessary for our working relationship, or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so.
We use an externally hosted, GDPR-compliant third party data processor to manage and administer your account. We may also transfer your data to other third-party payment providers (Stripe.com), and third-party mailing providers (including Mailchimp.com). Those third parties may be located in third countries outside of the EU. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Notice.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data through encryption technology, we cannot guarantee the security of your data during the transmission to our site; so any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Transferring your data outside of the EEA
By using our third-party providers, Mailchimp.com, we transfer the personal information we collect about you to the USA in order to perform our contract with you. Mailchimp is registered with the US Privacy Shield. This means that the USA has been deemed by the European Commission to provide an adequate level of protection for your personal information.

How long will we keep your personal data for?
We’ll keep hold of your data during the period we provide our service to you plus six years from the end of the last company financial year they related to, in order to comply with UK company record keeping requirements.

Your personal data rights
You’re entitled to know what personal information we hold about you and how that information is processed, and you can request any of the following:
• to access your data;
• to rectify any mistakes relating to your data;
• to erase your data;
• to stop processing your data;
• to receive an electronic copy of your data;
• to object to our processing of your data;

Let us know (see Contact section below) if you’d like to exercise any of your rights. If you’re unhappy with how any access request has been dealt with, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner.

Cookies
Our website contains deploys cookies. They are widely used in order to make sites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to our site owners. Specifically, this website uses the following cookies:

Google Analytics: The Google Analytics cookie allows us to see information on user website activity including, but not limited to page views, referral and average time spent on the website. The information is depersonalised and is displayed as numbers, meaning it will not be tracked back to individuals, which helps to protect your privacy. Using Google Analytics, we can see what content is popular on a website and strive to ensure you have the best user experience possible.

This website also uses the Google AdWords re-marketing service to advertise on third party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to our site. It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who haven’t completed a task on our site, for example using the contact form to make an enquiry. This could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or a site in the Google Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to this website. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Preferences page, and if you want to you can opt out of interest-based advertising entirely by cookie settings or permanently using a browser plugin.
