Last week the Thomson family visited the studio. Liam, Nicky, Lana and Evie were great fun and really enjoyed being photographed. The images below of (the very photogenic) Lana and Evie are examples of a low-key photographic style adopting a dark brown background. Often just a single light source are deployed for portraits of individuals, giving rise to a Rebrandt-like lighting. The shadow falling off the side of the face adds artistic interest to these type of images -and they often work equally well in monochrome.
